Our founder, Sherry Turner, wanted a way to experience the entire story by having videos with the printed photos in the memory books she was making for her family.
With YakYak you can add video to any of the photos you choose for your memory book. Pick a picture of your family, a recent vacation, or last week’s soccer game and the video you want to tell the rest of the story. While enjoying shared memories in a photo memory book, your friends and family can simply use their smartphones to scan images and start playing the video. Memories can flow easily between photos and videos.
The uses are endless – save your baby’s first words forever simply from any framed or printed photo, and delight future generations with the ability to hear and see family members long since gone. Bring your greeting cards to life with a live greeting embedded in the photo. Now a photo, a memory book, or a greeting card can be fully experiential.
YakYakYak is a mobile app that uses image recognition to allow users to attach video to any photo they have in their device library and launch that video from a
QR code.
Users attach video to a particular photo with the YakYak app and create a “phideo”, a copy of that photo with the video embedded. This can be used for all your photo projects — memory books, wedding albums, framed photos, greeting cards, etc. — and the QR code will launch
the video.
Once you have created a phideo you can decide to make it public or private, shareable only with those you choose from your friends list.
Tailor the QR Code placement to suit your photo, then click Next.
Add your video from your phone library

Don't forget to select to make your phideo
public, or private shareable only with those
you choose.
You just made a QR encoded image that
will launch video.
A YakYak phideo!
Bring your greeting cards to life with a video greeting embedded in your photo. Those framed photos on your walls can delight future generations with the ability to easily hear and see family members long gone. A baby book now becomes a place to store and share memories, forever capturing baby’s first words or first steps.
